Do I need Wi-Fi?

You need an internet connection. ThawHawk connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which nearly every home router offers, or to a PoE network cable that carries both power and internet.

How can it tell me the power is out?

ThawHawk checks in with our servers regularly. If it stops checking in, we send you an alert that the device is offline.

What does the $175 include?

The monitor and the refrigerator and freezer probes. Cloud monitoring is $4.99 a month, set up at checkout.

Does it guarantee my food won't spoil?

No. ThawHawk gives you an early warning so you can act sooner. Alerts depend on your internet, cell service, and the settings you choose.
